Your steps to online business success
There are many reasons why new online entrepreneurs fail in getting their online business started and making revenue, and one of the biggest is falling prey to the vast universe of online information.
With more marketing options than ever before such as Facebook and other social media sites, it is easy to see such failed ventures – you can see them with their Facebook pages, interaction in forums and blog posts for long periods of time, but while not actually making money, and their online business actually goes nowhere.
These are the people who have fallen prey, and despite the fact they are spinning the wheels, the sheer volume of content available to them has overwhelmed them so much, that no real action ever gets taken.
This is an all too common problem, and one of the hardest not only to overcome, but to recognise in the first place. You don’t have to be the victim however;
Below are five tips which will stop your tires spinning in the mud, and get your online business started successfully.
1. Choose a business model and stick with it
Getting the foundations laid down is important, and this needs to be done as early as possible, as we all know nothing can be built upon without foundations. Once you have the framework for what your business is, the first thing is to choose a business model.
There are many different business models, for example affiliate marketing, network marketing, direct sales, making and selling your own information products, and similar models. But which one is the best for you?
In all fairness, this is not important, because all formal business models will make you money – the key is in knowing your model, not stretching your resources by trying to muddle contrasting models, and learning effective business skills and getting those foundations built properly. Affiliate marketing and direct sales have great potential for building your momentum quickly and start generating an income.
The point here is to stick with your business model once you are underway. Of-course, you can diversify your models, and make different income streams once your business is making money. This is something you will learn as part of The Six Figure Mentors.
2. Select a single training course
Business gurus, training models and courses are plentiful, and finding the best ones can help teach you quickly about being successful online. Just as the “bite size” theory applies to education, it is best to stick with one course, and to take on board the information in chunks. If you go with multiple courses at once, you will quickly become overwhelmed, frustrated and disheartened very quickly.
As a subject, business is demanding, but putting the effort in and keeping things manageable is the key to success – something I know personally. As a member of The Six Figure Mentors we provide everything you require to build a profitable online business.
Sure, later on when you are up and running you can purchase additional materials to take your business to the next level, but for now stick with one course.
3. Make things happen
So you have a good model, and you have trained (or are training) and you now have the knowledge to start earning money under that model. What do you do next? This one is simple – take action.
In exactly the same way as the previous point, make things manageable by keeping your ‘to-do’s’ in small steps. The extent of what you have to do to get your business going can easily become overwhelming, but in small steps things becomes easy.
For example, setting up a website is a big task and can be off-putting, but if you manage this by doing things one at a time (for example, setting aside one evening to research and choose the best hosting provider, then another to choose a domain name… etc) the task becomes manageable and things get done.
Why not set yourself mini milestones and goals for yourself, such as completing a module or finishing content for your webpage.
It is important to make real decisions and go with them. If you find that you are indecisive about something, take time to understand what you are doing more and come back to that decision when you are better informed.
4. Don’t stop until you get results
Many people do not stick with their models, or stick with their training courses, and this is why so many people fail. People like this are lacking resolve, get distracted too easily, or become jaded by an ongoing challenge easily.
For example, someone may establish a new blog and spend great efforts in promoting it, only to move on to something else before a single sale is made. Getting to the point of sale, even if it is not necessarily profit, is the watershed moment, and you should focus all of your efforts in getting to this point, and do not give up.
Other attractive business models might make themselves known, or life circumstances might change things, but no matter what, keep your eye on the goal, follow your training guides instructions exactly, and stick with it until you see results.
Don’t end up chasing every new idea and not end up making a dime from any of them!
The hardest stage is behind you now, and once you have made it all of your hard work will be rewarded, because development is the fun part of business, when you know that the business is (or could very soon be) financially viable.
At this point you have the freedom to incorporate things you might have learned about previously, test out other revenue sources, analyze your markets and see what other markets could work for you, and so on.
All developments you make will be made on the strong foundations you have set, and this is good because in the event of a new venture not working out, your core business model will be there to save you. You can afford to make interesting choices, try out new things, and implement new courses you have learned without fear of losing your business.
This is what makes this stage so great. It such a shame that most never get to this stage, but learning as much as you can, being obstinate with your business plan at first, and not letting the volume of online guidance and information overwhelm you, are the keys to having a viable online business – and you really can make it work.
